Hiking Gear
You will need the following gear to safely hike in the mountains.
MUST HAVE
Hiking Books (No Trainers), Warm Jacket/Fleece, Comfortable Trousers/Leggings (Definitely No Denim/Corduroy), Hat/Gloves, Waterproof Jacket, Day Rucksack, Flask with a hot drink, Packed Lunch (e.g. Sandwiches/Fruit), Water (at least 1 litre), Emergency Rations (e.g. a couple of chocolate bars)
As you could be hiking for at least 4 hours it is very important that your boots/rucksack fit properly. It is recommended that you get advice (in an outdoor store) on which boots/rucksack are best for you.
RECOMMENDED TO HAVE
Waterproof Over-Trousers, Hiking Socks, Gaiters, Hiking Poles
GOOD IDEA TO HAVE
Torch with extra batteries (a head torch is best), Bivvy Bag, Whistle (plastic is best), Small First Aid Kit (General Plasters, Blister Plasters, Antiseptic Cream), Sports Watch, Map (Laminated is best), Compass
For after each Hike it is recommended that you bring a complete change of clothes (to be left in car)
