About Us

Tredagh Trekkers is a hiking, hill-walking, trekking and mountaineering club based in Drogheda, Co. Louth, Ireland.

The club was set up in March 1995 and is fully affiliated to Mountaineering Ireland. Currently the club has more than 100 members.

The aim of the club is to promote the safe enjoyment of, and participation in, all aspects of hiking, hill-walking, trekking and mountaineering.

The club is a supporter of the ‘Leave No Trace‘ ethic. Please visit the website and find out what it’s all about.

Membership is open to all individuals over 18 years of age  who recognise that hikes, hill-walks, treks and mountain climbing are potentially dangerous activities and as such accidents can happen which may cause personal injury.

Club hikes normally take place on a Sunday (every fortnight) from September to June, mainly in the Cooley, Mourne and Wicklow Mountains.

The club normally organises two grades of hike for each date, a moderate hike (C Grade) and a moderate/difficult hike (B Grade).

Information on the club’s next scheduled hikes is available on the Upcoming Hikes page, which is updated on a weekly basis.

Our friends in the Navan Trekkers club go hiking on alternate Sundays to us.

Members of Tredagh Trekkers are welcome to take part in hikes organised by Navan Trekkers and vice-versa.

Therefore, from September to June club members can normally go out on a hike every weekend, all you need to do is join the club.
